Late Late Show host James Corden will only drive in the episode with Will Smith. Comedian Billy Eichner hosts the Metallica episode, Seth McFarlane rides along with Ariana Grande and Chelsea Handler hits the road with Blake Shelton. There still aren't a ton of details right now, but Variety reports that Alicia Keys and John Legend are paired together.
That's right, different people will be behind the wheel during the course of the first "season." During the first batch of 16 half-hour episodes of "Carpool Karaoke," Alicia Keys, Ariana Grande, Blake Shelton, John Legend, Metallica and Will Smith will all take a ride with rotating hosts. Apple hasn’t yet announced a premiere date for “Planet of the Apps.” Will.i.am, Jessica Alba, Gwyneth Paltrow and tech investor Gary Vaynerchuk serve as executive producers and mentors on the show, in which aspiring app developers vie for a chance to win venture-capital funding.We still don't know exactly when Apple Music's version of a popular Late Late Show segment will debut, but we do know some of the singers who will appear on it. Other original productions set to land on Apple Music include “Planet of the Apps,” a reality-competition series designed to highlight Apple’s App Store business that is being produced by Propagate’s Ben Silverman and Howard Owens. “Carpool Karaoke” will continue to be a recurring segment on “The Late Late Show” on CBS.
James Corden and Ben Winston are the creators and executive producers of “Carpool Karaoke: The Series,” along with executive producer Eric Pankowski.
Other celebrity pairings will include Miley, Noah, Billy Ray and the entire Cyrus family Shakira and Trevor Noah Shaquille O’Neal and WWE star John Cena “Game of Thrones” stars Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett Smith and John Legend, Alicia Keys and Taraji P. Apple Music will debut a new installment of the 16-episode series each Tuesday.
